Québec Grand Pêres
- 1-1/2 cups maple syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 t vanilla
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 4 t baking powder
- 1 t salt
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup raisins or chopped apples
Combine syrup, water, and vanilla in electric fry-pan and heat to 350˚F.
Mix flour and baking powder. Cut butter into flour mixture until it resembles small peas. Add remaining ingredients.
Drop by spoonfuls into sauce and cook, covered, for 15 minutes.
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
