Ingredients

• Cookie Mixture:
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup Crisco
• 3 eggs
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 4 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon salt
• Filling
• 1 lb. dates, cut into fine pieces
• 1 cups chopped nuts
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup water

Preparation

Step 1

Cream sugars with Crisco; add eggs. Mix all dry ingredients together and gradually add to wet ingredients.

Filling Instructions

Mix all ingredients together in medium saucepan; cook until thick. Let cool.

Roll cookie dough into a rectangle. Spread with filling. Roll up and refrigerate for 4 hours. Slice thin and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
