Cranberry Pudding

Special family recipe from Nanna Wynn. Traditionally served at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Ingredients

  • CAKE:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 hand beaten egg
  • 1 package fresh cranberries
  • SAUCE:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 large and 1 small can of evaporated milk

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 9 x 13 inch pan.

Cake:

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, melted butter, milk and egg, and stir well. Add cranberries last and stir lightly. Bake in 9 x 13 inch pan, in 350 oven for 40 minutes.

Sauce: Melt butter in double boiler. Add sugar and milk. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serve cake warm with sauce.

Cake and sauce freezes well.
