Virginia Fried Apples

Ingredients

  • 2 lb cooking apples (Winesap, McIntosh, Jonathan, Rome Beauty)
  • 3 tbsp bacon drippings
  • 2 tbsp packed brown sugar

Preparation

Step 1

1. Wash, peel and core applesl. Cut into slices about 1/4" thick.

2. Heat bacon drippings in a heavy large skillet. Sprinkle with the sugar and a sprinkle with cinnamon. Cook apples for about 20 mins or until brown on both sides, adding more bacon drippings if needed to prevent sticking.
