Ingredients

  • FOR APPLE MIX:
  • 2 cups peeled and thinly sliced Granny Smith apples (3-5 apples)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (preferably fresh ground)
  • FOR PIE FILLING:
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cup apple-pie mix (see above)
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch piecrust
  • 1 tablespoon butter, sliced into thin pieces
  • FOR TOPPING:
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Whipped cream for garnish

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, mix apples, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

For filling, mix sour cream, lemon juice and condensed milk until completely blended. Add apple mix and blend well. Place piecrust in a 9-inch pie tin. Pour filling into pie crust and dot with butter. Bake for 30 miutes. top with cinnamon and pecans. Garnish with whipped cream, if desired.
