Pudding - Rice Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain white rice (Jasmine rice gives nice flavor)
  • 5 cups 2% milk
  • 1/3 cup sugar (white)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Bring everything, except raisings, to a boil over medium heat. Stir.
Soak raisins in water.
Pour rice mixture into greased casserole dish.
Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes with cover on.
Stir every 15 minutes
After 30 minutes, add raisins and cook 15 minutes longer with cover off. (May need extra cooking time)
Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top after rice is cooled.

Good Hot or Cold.
