Garlic Spare Ribs

Ingredients

  • large pkg. of small ribs
  • 2 - 3 Tbsp. oil
  • 3 tsp. garlic
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 4 tsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. soya sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Cut ribs into singles. Using a large deep frying pan, cook ribs in 2 or 3 tablespoons of oil for about 1/2 hour or until tender.

Turn off heat and drain fat. Sprinkle garlic powder all over ribs, and let stand, no heat, for at least 5 minutes.

Combine hot water, brown sugar and soya sauce in a bowl and stir until sugar is dissolved.

Return ribs to medium-low heat and pour on the sauce. Let cook slowly, stirring occasionally until the sauce is sticky, and sticking to the ribs, about 15 minutes.
