Ingredients
- 3 pounds chicken parts
- searing flour
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 clove garlic
- 8 ounces white mushrooms; cleaned and sliced
- 16 ounces peppers and onions; cleaned and sliced
- 8 ounces red wine
- 2 tablespoon italian seasoning
- 24 ounces ItalianClassicSeasoned Tomato Sauce; prepared foods
- salt and pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Halve chickn breasts; dust chicken with flour.
Heat oil in large braising pan on medium. Add chicken; brown on all sides,
8-10 minutes. Remove from pan. Discard all but one tablespoon pan
drippings.
Add garlic, mushrooms and sliced peppers and onions; cook, stirring
occasionally, 3-5 minutes, until veggies have softened slightly. Add wine;
cook 1-2 minutes. Stir in Italian seasoning and tomato sauce. Season with
salt and pepper.
Return chicken to pan; heat to simmer. Cover; place on center rack of oven.
Braise 1 hour 15 minutes.
