Wegman's Chicken Cacciatore

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds chicken parts
  • searing flour
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 8 ounces white mushrooms; cleaned and sliced
  • 16 ounces peppers and onions; cleaned and sliced
  • 8 ounces red wine
  • 2 tablespoon italian seasoning
  • 24 ounces ItalianClassicSeasoned Tomato Sauce; prepared foods
  • salt and pepper

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350°F. Halve chickn breasts; dust chicken with flour.

Heat oil in large braising pan on medium. Add chicken; brown on all sides,
8-10 minutes. Remove from pan. Discard all but one tablespoon pan
drippings.

Add garlic, mushrooms and sliced peppers and onions; cook, stirring
occasionally, 3-5 minutes, until veggies have softened slightly. Add wine;
cook 1-2 minutes. Stir in Italian seasoning and tomato sauce. Season with
salt and pepper.

Return chicken to pan; heat to simmer. Cover; place on center rack of oven.
Braise 1 hour 15 minutes.
