Ingredients
- Okra 1 Lb
- Buttermilk 3 C
- Cornmeal 2 C
- All purpose flour 1 C
- Hungarian paprika 1 tsp
- Cayenne pepper 1/2 tsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Soybean oil (for frying) 1/2 gal
- Sea salt as needed
Preparation
Step 1
Cut okra into 3/4-inch pieces, place in a bowl with buttermilk and reserve to soak 30 minutes.
Combine cornmeal, flour, salt and spices in a separate bowl.
Preheat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 350 degrees F.
Remove okra from buttermilk and coat in cornmeal mixture.
Fry okra in batches until golden brown, remove from fryer and season with sea salt. Serve immediately.
