Ingredients

  • 2 Tbs. Chili Powder
  • 1 Tbs. Ground Cumin
  • 2 tsp. Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. Kosher Salt (For Taco Seasoning)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Hot Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp. Ground Coriander
  • 1/2 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 Tbs. Peanut Oil
  • 1 Medium Onion, Chopped
  • 2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1/2 tsp. Kosher Salt (For Browning Meat)
  • 2/3 Cup Beef Broth
  • 1 lbs. Ground Sirloin

Preparation

Step 1

To make the Taco Seasoning, take the Chili Powder, Ground Cumin, Cornstarch, Kosher Salt, Hot Smoked Paprika, Ground Coriander and Cayenne Pepper and put in a jar, close lid, and shake to mix thoroughly and set aside.

Put Oil in skillet and place it over medium heat, when oil starts to shimmer, add the Onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until it is just brown around the edges. Add Garlic, Salt and Meat. Cook meat for 3 to 5 minutes until deeply brown, stirring occasionally.

Add all the taco season to the cooked Ground Sirloin and stir in throually. Add Beef Broth and cook uncovered for 2 to 3 minutes... Giving the Cornstarch in the Taco Seasoning time to gelatinized and thicken.
