Ingredients

  • 12 egg yolks
  • 10-12 tblsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tblsp cognac
  • 4 cups flour

Preparation

Step 1

Beat the sugar and egg yolks till light. Add the salt,then the butter and vanilla and cognac. Finally add the flour to makes a crust like pie dough.
Roll them out thin and cut with lattice roller at about an inch wide and 4 inches long. Cut a slit in the center and bring one end through it to make a twist in the middle. Fry in a skillet with 3 inches of oil being careful not to get brown. Then you just sprinkle them with a healthy dusting of powdered sugar.
