Blackberry -Bourbon Iced Tea

Ingredients
- 3 cups fresh blackberries
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons fresh mint( chopped) plus mint sprigs fro garnish
- 6 black tea bags
- Bourbon to taste

Step 1
1. Combine the blackberries,sugar and chopped mint in a large bowl and mash with a potato masher or wooden spoon,let sit while making tea.
2. While the blackberries are macerating, bring 1 1/2 quarts cold water to boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and add tea bags and let steep for 3 minutes. Remove the tea bags and pour over balckberry mixture. Let the mixture sit at room temperature for an hour to let flavors meld.
3.Pour the mixture through a strainer into a pitcher, pressing on solids. Cover and refrigerate till cold for at least 2 hours.
4.Serve the blackberry tea over ice in tall glasses and float a shot of bourbon on top. Garnish with fresh mint sprigs
