Ingredients
- 1 recipe pie pastry
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3 cups diced rhubarb
- 1 cup sliced strawberries
- 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400. Line a 9 inch pie plate with 1 dough round and crimp the edges.
In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, salt, and nutmeg and still well. Stir in the rhubarb and strawberries and let sit for 20 minutes. Pour the filling into the bottom crust and dot with the pieces of butter.
Cover the filling with the other round of dough and crimp the edges to seal. Cut several steam vents in the top crust. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from the oven and brush with the melted butter. Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly. Serve warm.
