Ingredients
- For The Spicy Nut Sauce
- 4 tablespoons peanut butter
- 8 tablespoons rice wine or sherry
- 3 tablespoons water
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
- For The Beef & Vegetables
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- water as needed
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 4 scallions, thinly sliced
- 2 cups cooked beef, cut into strips
- 4 scallions, halved lengthwise
- 2 cups white rice, steamed
Preparation
Step 1
For The Nut Sauce
place the peanut butter in a small bowl. Add the rice wine, water and soy sauce, stirring until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients. Taste to see if would like to add more Tabasco sauce.
For The Vegetables and Beef
Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of the oil and let it get hot. Add the garlic and broccoli and stir-fry for about a minute. Add water to help keep the broccoli from burning while cooking. Stir until the broccoli is just cooked but still crisp. Remove and set aside.
Add the remaining oil to the wok. when hot, add the nuts and stir for about 30 seconds.
Add thinly sliced scallions and beef and stir-fry for another 30 seconds.
Add broccoli, steamed rice and spicy nut sauce and stir fry until heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
Serve garnished with sliced scallions and steamed rice.
