Ingredients
- 2 tblsp. Yeast
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup scalded milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup instant potato flakes
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 cups bread flour
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp. Water
Preparation
Step 1
Dissolve the yeast in warm water and a pinch of sugar. Combine milk, butter,potato flakes, brown sugar.and salt in mixer bowl. Cool till lukewarm. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, and whole wheat flour to milk mixture aaa it is beating. Beat till smooth.
Stir in enough all purpose flour to make a soft dough.knead for about 10 minutes. Place dough into greased pan, turning to coat once, and let raise about 1 hour.
Can be shaped into any roll shape at this point.for clover roll, put a dab of butter or spray muffin tins, place 3 balls into each tin. Cover and let rise, then brush the top with the egg yolk mixture . Bake @375* for 15-20 minutes.
