Pralines (chewey)

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups Brown Sugar, packed
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 -2 pounds whole pecPralines (chewey)ans
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk

Preparation

Step 1

In large saucepan combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt. Cook over medium
Heat until sugar is dessolved. Gradually add milk, mix well. Continue cooking until Candy thermometer reads 248 degrees (firm ball stage). Remove from heat, stir In vanilla until blended. Fold in enough pecans to incorporate with caramel. Drop by tablespoon onto lined cookie sheets. Chill until firm. Can use the freezer for 5-7 minutes. Remove and wrap pralines in plastic wrap, makes about 50 depending on size.
