Ingredients

  • 1 qt. Figs
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tblsp. Vinegar
  • Dash salt
  • 1 cup baking soda 6 quarts boiling water

Preparation

Step 1

Soak figs in a hot bath made of 1 cup baking soda to 6 quarts of boiling water. Soak for 5 minutes, then rinse well in cold water.
Stir the figs with the rest of the ingredients and cook till very thick, being careful not to scorch. Then can in sterilized jars.
