Twice Baked Cookies ( Anise Biscotti)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter,melted
  • 4 tblsp. anise seeds
  • 4 tblsp. Anisette, or 2 anise extract& 2 water
  • 3 tblsp. Whiskey
  • 2 cups almonds, opt.
  • 6 eggs
  • 5 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tblsp. baking powder

Preparation

Step 1

Cream the sugar and the butter. Add the eggs and flavorings. Sift the dry ingredients and add at the last with the nuts. Refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight. Form into rolls, 2 to a sheet. Flatten a little. Bake @ 350* for 20 minutes. Remove onto a cutting board and slice at a 1/2 inch diagonal and put them back on a sheet to recook for another 15 minutes.
