Caramel dumplings

Ingredients

  • 2 tblsp.butter
  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 boiling water 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Baking powder
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • Dash salt
  • 2 tblsp. Butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp. Vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Place the first four ingredients into a saucepan and bring it to a simmer. Sift the dry ingredients, cut in butter, add milk and mix well. Drop by tablespoons into the simmering caramel. Put a lid on it and simmer gently for 20 minutes, do not peek. Serve with cream or ice cream if desired.
