Gingered Pear Crisp

Ingredients

  • STREUSEL TOPPING:
  • 4 firm ripe pears, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into chunks

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Toss pear slices with lemon juice and vanilla in large bowl.
3. Mix cornstarch, cinnamon and ginger. Sprinkle over pears and toss to coat well. Spoon into lightly greased 8- or 9-inch square baking dish.

For the STREUSEL TOPPING:
4. Mix flour, oats, sugar and cinnamon in medium bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until coarse crumbs form. Sprinkle evenly over pear mixture.
5. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until pears are tender and topping is golden brown. Serve warm.
