Macaroni and Cheese

  • 2 cups whole wheat elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 T butter
  • 2 T whole wheat flour
  • 2 1/2 c 2% milk
  • 3 c marble cheese
  • 4 slices of deli ham
  • 1 cucumber


Preparation time 20mins
Cooking time 40mins


Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Cook macaroni as directed on package. Meanwhile, cook onions in butter in a large saucepan on medium heat for 3 mins. or until tender, stirring occasionally. Add flour, cook and stir for 1 min. Add milk, cook 5 mins, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low, simmer for 10 mins. Remove from heat. Stir in 2 cups of the cheese and chopped deli ham. Drain macaroni. Add to cheese sauce, toss to coat. Spoon into greased casserole dish, sprinkle with remaining cup of cheese.

Bake 20 mins or until heated through.
