Chocolate Pound Cake (Mary McClain)

Ingredients

  • GLAZE:
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 t. baking powder
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 1/4 cups sifted confectioners sugar
  • 3 T. cocoa
  • 1.4 cup margarine
  • 3-4 T. milk

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together butter and shortening. Add sugar, mix well, then add eggs one at a time beating after each. Combine dry ingredients, add alternatley with milk to creamed mixture. Bake in tube pan at 325 degrees for 80 minutes.
