Ingredients
- For Barbecue Sauce:
- 2 5 oz. cans whole water chestnuts (sometimes 3 cans)
- 2 1 lb. pkgs. Bacon strips
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup ketchup
Preparation
Step 1
Wrap each water chestnut with ¼ to ½ strip of bacon, secure with toothpick. Place roll-ups in slightly greased 9x13 inch casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Drain off excess fat.
Prepare Barbecue Sauce:
1/3 c. white sugar
1/3 c. brown sugar
¾ c. ketchup
Mix barbecue ingredients in small saucepan and simmer until heated. Pour over water chestnuts, spooning to coat each roll-up. Bake for another 25 Minutes in sauce at 350 degrees. Can make ahead and just reheat when ready to serve. Makes 30-40 rollups.
