Ingredients
- 1 unbaked 10=inch double pie crust
- 4 cups fresh/frozen (do not thaw) blueberries
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- pinch salt
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter (cold) sugar for top of crust
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400. Dampen a 10-inch pie place with water, and line it with your unbaked pie crust.
In a large bowl combine the blueberries, sugar, flour and salt. Add this to the pastry shell.
Scatter the butter over the berry mixture and cover the pie with the second piece of rolled pastry. Trim the edges and crimp them together with your thumbs and forefingers. Brush the top crust with water and sprinkle generously with granulated sugar.
Bake in the centre of the oven for 40 to 50 minutes or until the pastry is golden. Allow the pie to cool and set before serving.
