Aunt Sally Cookies

Ingredients

  • Frosting:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 2 tsp cream of tarter
  • 4 tsp soda
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 2 beaten egg whites
  • 12 large marshmallows

Preparation

Step 1

Mix sugar shortening eggs and molasses. Add remaining items. Mix well. chill one hour. Roll on floured board, not to thin. Cut with a spam can. Do not over bake.

Frosting:
boil sugar water and vinegar to medium stage. Pour over egg withes and add marshmallows. Frost and let stand to dry. Do not make frosting on a cloudy day.

Bake 5 to 7 minutes @ 350
