Ingredients
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup lukewarm milk {scalded and cooled}
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup shortening or butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 3 1/2 to 4 cups flour
Preparation
Step 1
Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large bowl. Stir in milk, sugar, shortening, salt, egg and 2 cup flour. Beat until smooth. Combine the rest of the flour, knead until elastic. Place in greased bowl, turn greased side up. Cover put in warm place until double. Punch down, shape let rise and bake.
