Mutha Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup minced onion
  • 1/2 cup minced green pepper
  • 1 minced jalapeno pepper
  • Pinch of kosher salt and pepper
  • 2 tbs minced garlic
  • 1-28 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup Worcester sauce
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup cayenne pepper sauce
  • 1 cup spicy brown mustard
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tbs chilly powder
  • 2 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ground all spice
  • 1 tbs liquid smoke

Preparation

Step 1

Pour oil in large sauce pan over medium heat. Toss, onions, green peppers, jalapenos. Stir and season with salt and pepper and cook until soft and golden. Add garlic and cook 1 minute. Dump in everything else except liquid smoke and simmer 10 minutes. Swirl in liquid smoke and let cool. Store in refrigerator until you use it.
