Cheddar Bacon Drop Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tea. baking soda
  • 1/4 tea. salt
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp. chilled butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/3 cup finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 3/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • cooking spray

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl, stir with a whisk. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixutre resembles coarse meal. Stir in cheese and bacon.

Add milk and 1/4 cup water, stirring just until moist.

Drop dough by 2 level Tbsp. 1" apart onto a baking sheet coated with cooking spray.

Bake at 400 degrees for 11 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve warm.

Yield: 18 biscuits
