Ingredients
- 5 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 T fast rising yeast
- 2 T baking powder
- 2 1/2 c milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 c sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Mix dry ingredients together. Warm milk. Make a well in dry ingredients, add wet ingredients to the well. Stir until it comes together, turn out onto floured surface and knead for a couple of minutes. Roll out to about 2 inch thick or for indian tacos, divide up equally into a ball shape that will form the base of the tacos, in the size of your choice. Heat oil in large pot or a deep fryer to fry the bannock. The temperature of the oil is a trial and error process.
Toppings: shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, peppers, salsa, sour cream, grated carrots
