Kesar Peda

Kesar peda is a milk based Indian sweet which is made by simmering milk,saffron, cardamon and sugar.

Ingredients

  • 500 gms soft khoya
  • 200 gms powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp cardamom seeds crushed
  • 1 tbsp crushed pistachios
  • A few strands of saffron
  • 1 tbsp warm milk

Preparation

Step 1

1. Soak the saffron in warm milk.

2. Crumble khoya. If very hard, grate it. Add powdered sugar & mix well.

3. Put mixture in a large heavy or nonstick pan. Heat on medium high for
few minutes. Reduce flame & cook till soft .

4. When mixture is thick, add cardamom powder, saffron.

5. Mix well & take off fire. Allow it to cool.

6. Use cookie molds, or shape pedas with palms into patty rounds.

7. Garnish with pistachios.

8. Keasr peda is ready to serve.
