Ingredients
- 3 to 4 quarts apples:: peeled, cored & finely chopped
- 1/4 C Sugar
- 4 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

Step 1
Heap a slow cooker with chopped apples. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, cloves & salt. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour. Reduce heat and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until mixture is thick and dark in color. Fill small jars with mixture, leaving room for expansion. Allow to cool, and then freeze.
Editor’s note: The lid on slow cooker may not fit in the beginning, but apples will shrink as it cooks. The amount of sugar can be adjusted to suit individual taste.
