Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. salt pork
- 1 lb. yellow split peas, pre soaked
- 1 onion
- 1 carrot, sliced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 6 C water
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1 bouquet garni: parsley, 1 bay leaf, and celery leaves
- salt and pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Dice the salt pork and fry in a skillet until golden brown. Spoon into slow cooker. Add all other ingredients. Cover, and turn on low for 8 to 10 hours. Remove bouquet garni from the pot before serving.
