Ingredients
- 2 ounces (squares) unsweetened chocolate
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 1/3 cup boiling water
- 2 Tablespoons light Karo syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Put chocolate, butter and boiling water in a 1 1/2 quart saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth. Stir in Karo syrup and sugar. Raise heat to moderate and stir mixture occasionally until it comes to a boil. Stop stirring and boil moderately for exactly 8 minutes.
Remove from heat and at once set saucepan briefly in cold water in order to stop boiling. Stir in vanilla. Use sauce while still warm or cool and reheat for later use.
