Grammy's Lamb Shanks

Ingredients

  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 cup sliced celery
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 lamb shanks

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all ingredients except lamb; cover and simmer 5-10 minutes.

Season shanks with salt & pepper, brown in small amount of oil. Add sauce.

Cover and simmer 1 1/2-2 hours or until tender (or, cover and bake in a slow oven (325 degrees) for about 2 hours).
