  • 1 24-oz jar of spaghetti sauce
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can diced tomato
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped garlic
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 tsp. dried leaf oregano
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped basil
  • 1 tsp. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. red wine
  • pepper


Preparation time 15mins
Cooking time 60mins


Step 1

In heavy saucepan on medium heat, brown ground beef. Add salt and pepper to taste. Use EVOO as necessary.

Add onions and garlic when meat is about half done. Cook until meat is browned and onions are softened.

Add sauce, tomato, salt, oregano, basil, sugar, red wine. Stir well to combine.

Bring mixture to a simmer and cook uncovered about 30 minutes (thickened).
