Ingredients
- Topping:
- 2 cups pitted fresh cherries
- 1/2 to 1 cup sugar
- Ground cinnamon to taste
- 6 tbsp butter
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 300 F.
Combine cherries and sugar to taste. Spread evenly in an 8-inch square baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon and dot with butter.
To prepare the topping, combine and mix all ingredients. Pour over the cherries.
Bake for 1 hour, or until the top is golden brown.
Serve warm.
