Country Style Cornbread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups self rising cornmeal
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 2 cups butter milk
  • 2 tbs bacon drippings or vegetable oil

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 450*. Grease 9 inch skillet with about 2 tbs shortening or bacon drippings. Place pan in oven to heat. Combine all ingredients and whisk. Pour into hot skillet. Bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown.
