Buttermilk Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 C. water
  • 2 C. raw buttermilk
  • 1 C. raw heavy cream
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 Tbl. corn syrup
  • Zest of 1 lemon

Preparation

Step 1

1. In small saucepan, combine the sugar and water; and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until chilled.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together buttermilk, lemon juice, corn syrup and cream. Slowly add the chilled syrup, whisk to combine. Stir in lemon zest. Freeze in ice cream maker according to mfgís instructions.
