Ingredients
- 1 cup raw blanched whole almonds
- 5 cups water
- 2 - 3 dates, pitted (optional)
- 1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
1. Combine all ingredients in a high-powered blender and blend until completely smooth (about 1 - 2 minutes).
2. Pour milk through strainer (or cheesecloth for even less pulp) and store in glass bottles in refrigerator (keeps at least 4 days).
Note: The 1 cup almonds can easily be substituted with other nuts or seeds to make different milks (e.g. 1/2 cup hemp seeds + 1/2 cup almonds. For coconut milk, use 2 cups unsweetened shredded coconut and 5 cups water). Omit dates and vanilla for unsweetened version.
