Ingredients
- 1/4 pound (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup almonds, finely ground
- 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Place the butter, sugars, flour, almonds, and salt in the bowl of a mixer fitted with a paddle and mix until smooth. Press into an ungreased 8x8-inch baking pan and pat or roll flat. Use a small bottle or jar as a rolling pin.
Transfer the pan to the oven and bake until the shortbread is beginning to brown, about 40 minutes. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes and cut into 16 pieces.
