Ingredients

  • 1/2 loaf sourdough torn in pieces
  • 3 Tbs melted butter
  • 1/2 pound julienned ham
  • 3 scallions minced
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 pound shredded Monterey jack
  • 10 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c milk
  • 1/3 c white wine
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1/2 c grated Parmesan

Preparation

Step 1

In well-greased 9X13 inch casserole, spread bread pieces and drizzle with butter. Sprinkle ham and Monterey Jack on top.
Beat eggs, milk, wine, scallions, mustard, peppers till frothy. Pour gently over bread and ham. Cover with foil. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
Remove from refirgerator for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 325.
Bake covered for 1 hour.

Uncover, spread with sour cream, sprinkle on Parmesan.

Bake uncovered 10 minutes till light brown.
