Ingredients

  • 4 C boiling water
  • 2 c quick coot oats
  • 1 c whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 brown sugar or honey
  • 4 TBL butter
  • 2 TBL salt
  • 2 TBL yeast
  • 1 c warm water
  • 1/2 vinegar
  • 12 to 14 c flour

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Pour boiling water over oats, whole wheat flour, sugar, butter and salt, mix well. Cool until lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in 1c warm water. Mix into batter along with vinegar and flour. Set in warm place and let rise until double. Punch down and divide into 4 loaves. Bake 30 minutes or until done
