Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar [mix the two and set aside]
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup Crisco
- 6 tbs cocoa {put all 4 items in pan and boil}
Preparation
Step 1
Pour while hot on flour/ sugar beat until smooth. Add 2 eggs, 1/2 cup buttermilk, 1 tsp baking soda and 1tsps vanilla. Beat until smooth 3 to 4 minutes. Pour into a greased cookie sheet 11 1/2x 16 1/2 jelly roll pan. Bake at 400* for 20 minutes.
Icing:
{start 5 minutes prior to cake being done}
Using same pan put 1 stick butter, 4 tbs water and 4 tbs cocoa add 1 box or 2 cups powder sugar and 1 tsp vanilla and bring to a boil and boil for a minute. Pour over cake while still hot then sprinkle 1/2 cup nuts on top
