Dewey's Oyster Fritters

This recipe came from a long-time family friend, Dewey Sapp.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 small can evaporated milk
  • 1-2 eggs
  • 1 pint oysters, drained, reserve liquid
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • Salt/pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Combine dry Beat eggs with canned milk. Add milk mixture to dry ingredients slowly. Batter will be thick. Add drained oysters and oil. Add reserved liquid a little at a time as needed to thin batter.

Fry in hot oil.
