Apple Phyllo Strudel
- 4 cooking apples, peeled, cored, thinly sliced
- 1/3 cup ground almonds
- 1/4 cup liquid honey
- 1/2 tsp grated lemon zest
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 8 sheets phyllo pastry
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
In a medium size bowl combine apples, almonds, honey, lemon zest and lemon juice.
Separate phyllo sheets.
Brush 4 sheets with melted butter and layer over each other.
Spoon half of apple mixture on layered sheets, roll up from short side, tucking in outside edges.
Place seam side down on baking sheet and make diagonal cuts on top of pastry.
Repeat for remaining 4 pastry sheets.
Bake at 350 for 35-38 minutes.
Cool for 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
