Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 Tbs water
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups Rice Krispies
- 2 cups oatmeal
- 1 cup coconut
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- (Note: try 1/2 cup coconut and add 1/2 cup dried cherries or raisins)
Preparation
Step 1
Blend together the shortening and sugars.
Dissolve the baking soda in the water and add to sugar mixture.
Add 2 eggs.
Sift together flour and salt and add to first mixture, mixing well.
Fold in remaining ingredients.
Roll into large walnut size balls, press flat with fork.
Bake on well greased cookie sheet, 375o, 10-12 minutes.
