Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 10 or more medium-size peaches (canned peaches works find)

Cream together sugar and soft butter. Stir in milk. Then, sift in flour and baking powder--blend well. Batter will resemble a thick liquid. Lightly grease the bottom of a deep casserole. Casserole should be at least 2-inch DEEP, PREFERABLY 3 to 4-inches deep. Spread a little of the batter ofver the bottom of the dish. Top with sliced, fresh peachest that have been sweetened to taste. Cover with more batter, then add another layer of peaches and top with batter. There should be at least two layers of peaches, but you may make more. Sprinkle brown sugar on top of the final layer of batter. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes to one hour, or until crisp and brown on top. The cobbler is excellent hot or cold.
