Ingredients
- 1 C. Crisco
- 1 C. milk
- 1 C. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp salt (scant)
- 2 pkgs. yeast
- 1/3 c. warm water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 4 about 4 c. King Arthur Bread Flour
Preparation
Step 1
Melt Crisco and milk together. Let cool. Beat well sugar, eggs, salt until fluffy. Dissolve yeast in warm water with sugar until yeast is dissolved. Add yeast along with 2 c. flour. Beat until flour is mixed in. Add 2 more c. and continue adding flour until dough is stiff and sticky. Cover and let rise until double in size. Turn dough out onto floured board and knead enough flour into dough until you can roll it out. Roll out dough until 1/4 inch thick. Spread melted butter and cinnamon and sugar on dough. Add pecans. Roll into a jelly roll and cut into 2 inch sections. Place in ungreased pan and let rise. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. Drizzle with mixture of powdered sugar, milk and vanilla.
