Pizza Spaghetti Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. thin spaghetti
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 bell pepper, chopped
  • 3.5 oz. pkg. packed pepperoni, chopped saving some for garnish
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp. tomato paste
  • 32 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Salt water generously and add pasta. Cook to package instructions to al dente.
Preheat oil in large pot over medium high heat. Carefully add hamburger to pan. Break hamburger into pieces as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Once meat is cooked, drain the oil.
Add onion, garlic and bell pepper.
Saute until veggies are slightly tender and add in pepperoni.
Add Italian Seasoning and tomato paste. Saute for a few minutes more,
Pour in crushed tomatoes and stir until combined.
Allow to simmer until flavors marry.
Pour in the spaghetti.Stir until noodles are evenly coated.
Pour into a 9 x 13" baking pan. Spread in to an even layer. Sprinkle cheese across the top and garnish with slices of pepperoni.
Bake in oven 25 to 30 minutes or until browned and bubbly.
