Basic Yellow Cake

Ingredients

• 2 cups flour
• 1-1/2 . cup sugar
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1 cup milk
• 3-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 3 eggs

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Grease and flour pan.
3. Mix together flour, baking powder and salt.
4. In large bowl, cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy.
5. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
6. Add flour mixture alternatively with the milk, beating to combine.
7. Stir in vanilla.
8. Pour batter into pan.
9. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40-45 minutes.
